Proof

Apologies for the terrible picture quality.  I have no photography skills, whatsoever.

Combine the two girls in brand-spankin' new (to them) soccer uniforms, and the minivan behind it, and you have all the proof you need.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have officially joined the ranks of the soccer mom.

My twenty year old "I will never drive a minivan" self would be so ashamed.

In other news, the first soccer game in the history of our household went relatively well.  The girls' team lost 4-1, Ashlynn took a brutal header from the soccer ball, and Abby learned that she can't skip around the soccer field.

All in all, a good day.

  1. We loved soccer when we lived in North Carolina, but in New England our only options play on Sunday, so we had to give it up. I'm hoping they learned enough to be able to play when they're old enough at school.

I like your definition of relatively well!

  2. Dallin's response to seeing that picture was to say, "What's the big deal, doesn't everybody play soccer?" LOL!

I have found that watching soccer when your child is actually in the game is much better than I imagined. And watching soccer is way more enjoyable than watching basketball.

    Welcome to the club!

  3. I kind of want to be a soccer mom, but I keep asking my girls if they'd like to play and am met with a resounding "NO!"

So that is that. Until Sophia wants to play. And I have a hunch she will. Then I can finally be a soccer mom.

PS My minivan is the same color as yours. And it looks like it;s the same, period, actually.

  4. Yay! My soccer mom days are over, but I enjoyed them. My second son, in no way at all an athlete, used to yell, "Nobody is giving me a turn!"

  5. LOL, Savannah has been talking about soccer lately. Although, we just signed her up for T-ball instead.
    Very cute!

  7. I would email you, but I'm not on my computer today, as it's being repaired.
I just wanted to say, that after reading what you've been going thru with your baby these last few months, I am in awe of your strength.
You've been thru alot, sister. ANd yeah, you don't need me to tell you that, but wow. I so relate to this, as I went to Phx Children's Hospital 5 days a week for three years for my special needs child.
At the time, I didn't have time to think about it, i just did it. I look back now and can scarcely believe I did all that.
You are wonderful and I'm so glad I'm getting to know you.

  8. Hey - My Kid thinks she knows your Abby - was she in "Joseph" with us? (Also, I am a recovering compulsive Baby-Bump toucher. I hold it in unless she's someone I know, and then, I ask permission - but I love to feel babies. I know. Weird. But I'm recovering.)

    Great blog!

This isn't letting me do my name/URL thing, so if I wind up posting under one of my Kids' google accounts, just know it's me - Becca!
